I cant understand please help?

i really dont understand lady gagas lyrics some times like eg: bad romance " i want your leather studded kiss in the sand" thing is i dont understand it but its really good it goes if ya know what i mean, i want to write songs but i want to write songs as GOOD as madonna and lady gaga but i dont understand them..... please can anyone help me understand them more , also if i dont understand the lyrics does this mean i have no hope in becoming a singer songwriter ?
